Ben Thornburg is a licensed general contractor in Teller County and Park County with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry.

Born and raised in Missouri, Ben started framing when he was 18 years old. Over the years, he worked under various contractors to improve his craft and gained experience in framing, finish work, and various other trades.

After working on multimillion-dollar builds in Flagstaff, Arizona, he started his own construction company.

He moved to Colorado in 2016 and bought a 40-acre parcel in Florissant. In 2020, he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and build his family home.

Moving through the process as a homeowner-builder helped him understand the stress and uncertainty that comes with any major construction project — as well as the hurdles that are unique to rural mountain builds. Unable to get an electrical easement, Ben powered his home with solar energy and worked through many winter snowstorms to complete his home in time for the birth of his first son.

Ben saw the value he could provide as a builder committed to quality craftsmanship. He started Dalton Point Home to help his neighbors build their dream homes in the mountains.
